AMERICA

Mr John Goglia
Mr. Goglia served as a Member of the National Transportation Safety Board from August 1995 to June 2004. With more than 40 years experience in the aviation industry, he was the first Board Member to hold an FAA aircraft mechanic’s certificate.As a Board Member, he played a key role in focusing international attention on the increasing significance of aircraft maintenance in aviation accidents. He pressed successfully for greater integration of civilian and military safety information.John has been an Associate Member of IFA for some years. Prior to joining the NTSB, John was an airline mechanic and involved as a Union Flight Safety Representative on Accident Investigation teams. For 12 years he operated his own aircraft service company so he is well qualified to assist on issues on Parts, service and maintenance.

AFRICA

Mr Jared Ajwanga
Jared is an alumnus of City University London with an MSc Aircraft Maintenance Management currently working with Kenya Airways as a Duty Control Engineer in charge of Line Maintenance Nairobi. A licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer B1 certified on Boeing 777-200(Rolls Royce engine)/300(GE90 engine), B787-8 (GNX-1B), B767-300ER (CF80 engine) and Embrear 170(CF 34-8)/190 (CF 34-10).Aviation safety has been his passion, in the year 2013 Jared won the AJW masters sponsorship in London on essay topic commercial pressure verses aircraft maintenance safety.Jared is a Safety Management Systems Implementation and control specialist. His keen interest is in safety and procedures compliance, he played a critical role in the recent qualification and approval of Kenya airways as an EASA 145 maintenance organization. An instructional techniques and design facilitator, currently championing international standardization of statutory licensing qualifications for maintenance engineers. He has been instrumental in partnering with European EASA 147 training organisations to offer EASA part 66 license exams in Kenya.

MIDDLE EAST

Captain Nasir Iqbal
Captain Nasir Iqbal started his aviation career in 1987 with Pakistan Air Force where he held various operational, command, staff and instructional appointments. In 2006 he joined commercial aviation and worked on instructional assignment with FTO and later joined UAE General Civil Aviation Authority as Chief Safety Risk Specialist & Acting Manager Safety in the Risk Management Section.

ASIA

Captain Victor Liu, JPDeputy Director-General Civil Aviation Hong Kong Civil Aviation DepartmentAs the DDGCA, Victor has supervisory role on various technical Divisions in HKCAD, including airworthiness and certification, flight standards, personnel licensing, air traffic services and navigation systems. Victor is a professional pilot qualified on Airbus A330, Gulfstream G200, G450 and Jetstream 41 aircraft. He is also an appointed Inspector of Accidents in Hong Kong.  Being also the Vice Chairman of the ICAO Asia Pacific Regional Aviation Safety Group, Victor looks forward to closer collaboration of the international community in enhancing aviation safety.

AUSTRALASIA

Mr Steve Swift
Steve is an aeronautical engineer with 40 years industry and regulatory experience in the design, manufacture and maintenance of aircraft structure.  In 2007, the IFA awarded Steve our Whittle Safety Award.  Steve now runs his own training and consulting company—in airworthiness of course!“In Australasia, we work our aircraft hard.  Many are fleet leaders.  So, we value the IFA’s support for continuing airworthiness.”
